The Defense Forces of Ukraine are almost in the same positions as a year ago, however, the losses of Russian troops are increasing, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, LETA reports citing INTERFAX-UKRAINA.
"If we compare with last year, we are almost in the same positions, only Russian losses are increasing," he said in a conversation with blogger Max Klimenko.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported on February 23 that since the end of January, Ukrainian troops have liberated 400 square kilometers of territory in southern Ukraine. On March 3, Zelensky stated that during counteroffensive operations since the beginning of the year, the Defense Forces have liberated 460 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory.
On March 17, Zelensky noted that last month the Defense Forces liberated more territory than the Russian occupying forces were able to capture.
