Germany and Britain Refused to Participate in the U.S. Operation in the Strait of Hormuz

Germany and Britain refused to participate in the U.S. military operation to unblock the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by The Telegraph, citing diplomatic sources.

According to the publication, Washington attempted to form an international coalition to ensure the safety of commercial vessels and oil tankers passing through this strategically important maritime route. However, key European allies are not ready to directly engage in potential combat operations.

Berlin has made it clear that Germany does not intend to participate in the military operation. German authorities emphasized that the country is not a party to the conflict and does not consider the possibility of engaging in combat actions in the region.

Britain is also taking a cautious stance. London continues to discuss with the U.S. options for ensuring the safety of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz; however, British authorities are focusing on diplomatic efforts and de-escalation rather than military operations.

At the same time, the British government is considering limited forms of participation. Among the possible options is the use of maritime unmanned systems for locating and neutralizing sea mines.

The Strait of Hormuz is considered one of the key routes for global oil trade. A significant portion of crude oil supplies from the Persian Gulf countries to global markets passes through it. Any threats to the safety of shipping in this region could seriously impact global energy markets and international trade.
