Von der Leyen demanded a transition period for Iran, a definitive halt to both its nuclear and ballistic programs.
The head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, stated that a sustainable resolution to the crisis surrounding Iran is only possible through diplomatic means. Her words were reported by Reuters.
"This means a credible transition period for Iran, a definitive halt to both its nuclear and ballistic programs, and an end to destabilizing activities in the region," she added.
At the same time, von der Leyen emphasized the need for de-escalation of the conflict and preventing the expansion of the war.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a war against Iran. Its targets included command facilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, airfields, drone launch sites, and air defense systems.
