TV3: The Embassy of Latvia in the United Arab Emirates urges citizens in the region to stay in safe places and not to go out without necessity.

In tourist-favored Dubai, there is no panic. Rather, there is a prevailing misunderstanding, which is expected to continue, said Oskars, who currently lives in Dubai, to TV3 news.

"Now we have heard that the remnants of a missile fell on a palm tree, as I understand it. One of the hotels is also on fire, including 'Dubai Mall', which just reported that they are evacuating and closing," said Oskars, who emphasizes during a follow-up interview that there is great confusion and uncertainty.

"Everyone is sharing information left and right. Here and outside, you can occasionally see missile explosions, that they are being intercepted in the air and hitting. There is panic, more a feeling of misunderstanding – no one knows what to do," said Oskars, whose friends just arrived for a visit and are supposed to fly out in a couple of days.

"They are looking at options to leave through another country by car, and then look for a flight there. There is confusion about what to do and how to do it." Air raid sirens have not sounded in Dubai, and no warnings have been received on phones. The population is largely unaware of what is happening.
