Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has not achieved the goals of the war in four years, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a video address on the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, LETA reports citing AFP/INTERFAX-UKRAINA.

“Putin has not achieved his goals. He has not broken the Ukrainians. He has not won this war. We have preserved Ukraine and will do everything to achieve peace — and ensure justice,” said Zelensky.

“ We want peace. A lasting, dignified, and long-term peace,” emphasized the President of Ukraine, adding that any agreement “must not only be signed — it must be accepted by the Ukrainians.”

“Today marks exactly four years since Putin planned to take Kyiv in three days. And this really says a lot about our resistance, about how Ukraine has been fighting all this time. Behind these words are millions of our people. Behind these words is great courage, very hard work, endurance, and the long path that Ukraine has been walking since February 24 [2022],” stated Zelensky.

“Our people did not raise the white flag, but defended the blue and yellow. And the occupiers, who thought they would be greeted with flowers, saw queues at the military enlistment offices. Our people chose resistance,” said the President of Ukraine.

“Nobody knows what tomorrow will bring, but everyone understands — every tomorrow needs to be earned,” added Zelensky.
