The United States of America (USA) may carry out a military strike on Iran on February 23 or 24. This is reported by the newspaper Bild.
"Former CIA agent and informant John Kiriakou claims that the American government has allegedly decided on a military strike. <…> A source in the White House informed him that the attack could follow on Monday or Tuesday," the publication states.
Kiriakou noted that within the administration of the US president, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth are in favor of the attack on Iran. Opposing them are Vice President JD Vance and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
Recall that the day before, Iran conducted naval exercises with Russia in the Gulf of Oman and the Indian Ocean.
It was previously reported that the USA is considering the possibility of eliminating individuals as part of the attack on Iran. However, it was not disclosed which specific individuals might become targets of the strikes and how American military forces might attempt to effect a regime change without deploying large ground forces. Reuters, citing sources among American officials, reported that the planning of a possible attack is at an advanced stage.
