General of the North Atlantic Alliance on nuclear potential.
The Deputy Commander of the NATO Multinational Forces Division, Brigadier General Ilmars Atis Leinjsh, commented on the desire of certain NATO countries to acquire nuclear weapons in an interview with TV-24.
The general reminded that NATO itself is a nuclear defense alliance. "The United Kingdom and France have nuclear submarines, the United States has a full range of nuclear arsenals. For example, Belgium and Germany have aircraft capable of carrying nuclear weapons," the general explained.
