Riots have begun in Mexico following reports of the elimination of drug lord El Mencho.

Mass riots have erupted in Mexico following reports of the elimination of one of the country's most wanted drug lords, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes (El Mencho). This was reported by Mexico News Daily.

In several states of Mexico, cartel members began burning trucks and buses, blocking highways, and engaging in shootouts. There are also reports of gunfire in the Guadalajara airport area, and administrative buildings have been attacked in several cities.

The special operation was carried out on Sunday, February 22, in the municipality of Talpa de Allende (Jalisco state). In response to government actions, cartel representatives began to block highways. After the arrest of Joaquin Guzman, known as Shorty, Cervantes was considered one of the most powerful drug lords. Cartel members control a significant portion of the trafficking and operate in many states of Mexico.
