NYT: A Plan Has Been Developed in Iran in Case of Khamenei's Death and US Bombings.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has ordered the development of an action plan in case of his death. This is reported by The New York Times, citing Iranian officials.
The publication states that since the protests and threats of strikes from the US, 67-year-old Larijani, the former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and head of the Supreme National Security Council, has effectively been managing Iran. The text specifies that Khamenei has tasked Larijani and several other close political and military associates with ensuring the survival of the Islamic Republic in the event of bombings and even the death of Ayatollah Khamenei himself.
Earlier, Axios reported that US authorities are considering the elimination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his son Mojtaba.
