Kallas Reveals EU Plans for February 23 0 14

The High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, expressed confidence that EU countries will approve a new package of sanctions against Russia on February 23.

"On Monday, we will adopt the 20th package of sanctions against Russia," she revealed the organization's plans.

It was previously reported that EU countries failed to agree on a new package of sanctions against Russia at a meeting held on February 20.

Before that, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, disclosed the contents of the new package of anti-Russian sanctions and urged the European Union to approve it promptly. According to the official, the 20th package of sanctions will affect energy, financial services, and trade.
