FT: Hungary Blocked the Allocation of a 90 Billion Euro Loan to Ukraine.

Hungary has blocked the allocation of a European Union (EU) loan to Ukraine amounting to 90 billion euros. This is reported by the Financial Times (FT) citing sources.

According to the publication, Hungary's permanent representative to the EU opposed the disbursement of financial resources to Kyiv on February 20, which led to the cancellation of this decision due to the lack of necessary unanimity.

On February 11, European Commission (EC) President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the European Parliament approved the allocation of an additional loan of 90 billion euros to Ukraine.

According to the EC President, a strong Ukraine makes Europe safer. She noted that the funds allocated to Kyiv will ensure the continuation of essential state services as well as the preservation of the country's defense capabilities.
