Ukrainian troops have begun counteroffensive actions at the junction of Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, reports the portal Ukraina.UA, citing Russian military public sources.
It is reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are counterattacking on the right flank of the Russian grouping, which is advancing in the eastern part of the Zaporizhzhia region. The offensive is coming from Pokrovsk and Velykomykhailivka, aiming to cut off Russian forces and get behind their lines.
There is also an offensive underway towards Ternovate, which was recently claimed to be captured by the Russian Ministry of Defense, as well as in the area of Hulyaipole.
According to Russian military observers, the attack is taking place in several areas. It is claimed that the attacks began with the establishment of foggy weather, making it easier to bypass Russian positions and "sneak" into their rear.
At the same time, the Russians confirm that the AFU have entered Ternovate, where fighting has broken out.
The Ukrainian command stated yesterday that the Russians have already been driven out of Ternovate in the Zaporizhzhia region. Military observer Julian Repke from Bild also reports the liberation of the neighboring Prydorozhne.
Meanwhile, the situation will remain in development. Judging by the fact that the Russians are actively writing about the counteroffensive, they will likely attempt to suppress the AFU's counteroffensive actions by redeploying reserves to this direction.
