A source told the newspaper that Tel Aviv would take such a step if Tehran "crosses the red line on ballistic missiles." Israeli officials informed their American counterparts that Iran's program for the development and production of ballistic missiles poses an existential threat to Israel.
According to the publication, Israeli military forces have already developed operations to disrupt Iran's plans, which involve strikes on key production facilities in the country.
Earlier, the Axios portal reported that U.S. President Donald Trump, unlike Israeli leadership, does not yet consider an attack on Iran a necessity. "In fact, it is the Israelis who want to strike. The president holds a different opinion," an unnamed American official told the publication.
