UK Foreign Office: the ban on transporting Russian gas will be introduced by the end of the year.
The United Kingdom intends to ban the use of British maritime services for the transportation of Russian liquefied gas within the next year. The timeline for the introduction of the ban was mentioned by Stephen Doughty, the Deputy Head of the British Foreign Office, in response to a request from Member of Parliament Chris Law.
Doughty stated that the UK plans to cut off access to British maritime services for Russian liquefied gas suppliers. According to the Foreign Office representative, these services facilitate the delivery of Russian gas to other countries.
The letter notes that the ban will be introduced in the coming months and will take effect by the end of 2026.
