New meetings are planned within the framework of the negotiation process to end the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine, and they may take place in the USA, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to LETA citing BBC.
According to the president, after two days of meetings and negotiations in Abu Dhabi with representatives from the USA and Russia, he received a report from the negotiating team.
"The next meetings are scheduled for the near future. Possibly in America," Zelensky said in an evening address, adding that Ukraine is ready for all working formats that can bring about a stable and lasting peace.
"It is important that this war ends in a way that Russia is not rewarded for its aggression. This is one of the key principles that restores and guarantees real security. I am grateful to all our partners who support us in this matter," Zelensky emphasized.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, characterized the negotiations in Abu Dhabi as "truly constructive."
Earlier, special envoy of former US President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff, stated on platform X that the negotiations were "detailed and productive," but noted that there is still much work ahead.
"The discussion will continue, and further progress is expected in the coming weeks," Witkoff added.
