U.S. President Donald Trump sent an American armada to Iran 'just in case,' The Financial Times (FT) reports, citing the words of the U.S. leader.

According to him, many ships are heading in that direction. 'Just in case... I would prefer that nothing happens at all, but we are watching them very closely,' he emphasized.

The publication noted that due to Trump's recent statements, oil prices have risen.

Earlier, Trump stated that Iran would be wiped off the face of the earth if the leadership of the Islamic Republic attempted to carry out threats against him.
