Denmark to Send Large Number of Troops to Greenland

TV2: a large number of soldiers from the Danish Armed Forces will arrive in Greenland on January 19.

A large number of soldiers from the Danish Armed Forces (AF) will arrive in Greenland on January 19. This was reported by the Danish television channel TV2, citing the kingdom's Ministry of Defense.

"A large number of Danish soldiers, (...) are expected to arrive on Monday evening in the settlement of Kangerlussuaq in Greenland," the publication states.

It is reported that along with the group of troops, the commander of the Danish Army, Peter Boysen, will also arrive on the island.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the imposition of 10% tariffs against several European countries that sent troops to Greenland. The tariffs will affect Denmark, Sweden, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, the United Kingdom, and Norway.
