Euronews from Iran: "The number of injured is so great that doctors cannot cope"

Despite communication problems, Euronews managed to contact medics who are providing assistance to injured protesters.

"Protesters from all walks of life are participating. Unfortunately, we have seen among the dead the bodies of doctors," an Iranian medic told Euronews journalists.

According to him, the situation in hospitals is very severe, and the medical staff cannot keep up with all the patients needing help.

"The number of injured is so high that it is very difficult for medical personnel to cope with the influx. Often, doctors are so busy providing first aid that they do not have time to operate on a person who is in a coma due to injury. They only stop the bleeding and hope they can operate on him later."

Another source for Euronews reported that the level of violence is extremely high. According to him, fighters from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as well as young and inexperienced conscripts, often use combat weapons against the protesters.

Another Iranian stated that he was able to obtain information about the number of dead from his own sources in the Iranian Ministry of Health: according to this data, in Tehran alone, the number of killed protesters is estimated at 7,000 people.

Euronews cannot confirm the information provided by eyewitnesses due to internet and communication blockages in Iran.
