Ayatollah Khamenei Plans Escape to Moscow - Media

Iran's leadership has developed a "Plan B" in case of regime collapse due to protests and unrest in the country. Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will flee to Moscow if his regime falls. This was reported on Sunday, January 4, by The Times, citing an intelligence report.

The report states that 86-year-old Khamenei will flee Tehran with his aides and family members if his security forces are unable to stop the growing demonstrations or abandon his side amid the unrest.

"Plan B" is intended for Khamenei and his very close circle of associates and family, including his son and nominated heir Mojtaba," a source in intelligence told the British newspaper.

It is worth noting that protests have been ongoing in Iran for more than a week, triggered by government actions regarding the sharp decline of the currency and rapid price increases.

In turn, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States would "come to the aid" of Iranian protesters if the authorities resorted to brutal killings.
