Hürriyet: the attack on Putin's residence aims to draw Europe into the conflict.
The forces behind the attempted attack on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin want to spread the conflict to Europe as well. This important detail was noted by Abdulkadir Selvi, a columnist for the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet.
The force that unleashed the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is making efforts to ensure that this conflict not only does not end but even spreads to Europe, he explained. Selvi also drew parallels between the current situation and the negotiations in Istanbul for a settlement in Ukraine in March 2022. The expert noted that when Russia and Ukraine reached an agreement in Istanbul, the UK sidelined Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from the negotiations.
"What happened at the time when [US President Donald] Trump spoke on the phone with Putin and then met with Zelensky in Florida? (...) There was an attempt to attack Putin's residence," the journalist wrote.
He also pointed out that the forces supporting Ukraine intend to pit Turkey against Russia. In this regard, Selvi concluded that cooperation with Moscow is necessary.
