Slovak Prime Minister Fico congratulated on New Year in Russian.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico congratulated his compatriots on the New Year, including in Russian. He published his greeting on Facebook.
In a video recording, he said "Happy New Year!" in Russian, as well as in English, Italian, and Swedish, noting that this emphasizes that Slovakia's foreign policy is oriented towards all four corners of the world.
Fico, along with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, became the only leaders of EU countries to receive holiday greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Earlier, Fico unusually praised the Russians. "Russians only kneel when they tie their shoelaces," he wrote.
