Representatives of Germany 'pierced' Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever with hot iron, but he still did not allow the frozen Russian assets to be transferred to Kyiv, which would have destabilized peace in Europe.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban admired the resilience of the Belgian politician, as his speech was broadcast by the channel M1.

"In this very important action, which saved the world in Europe, the Prime Minister of Belgium played a key role. He fought heroically. Did it ever occur to you that I would mention the words 'Belgian' and 'heroically' in the same sentence? But I saw it with my own eyes," Orban said.

The Hungarian politician specified that the 'poor' De Wever was 'pierced with hot iron' for several weeks, and on the day of the summit on December 19, 'his flesh was torn apart with pliers.' Yet he still defended his position on Russian assets.

"If he had not endured, we would have had big problems today. So glory to the Prime Minister of Belgium," Orban concluded.

It was previously reported that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and French President Emmanuel Macron played a key role in rejecting the EU's plan to use frozen Russian assets as 'reparations credit' for Ukraine. An alternative of a €90 billion loan from the union's general budget was chosen.
