Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled the words of former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl that Europe's future must be together with Russia. His statement was made during a direct line combined with a final press conference.
"I have already recalled one of the conversations I attended, where the former Chancellor of Germany, Mr. Kohl, said back in 1993 that Europe's future, if it wants to remain an independent center of civilization, must necessarily be together with Russia," the head of state said.
