Господин Пелегрини не очень-то и стремится посещать Киев.

"Maintains close ties with Russia and personally with war criminal Putin."

The President of Slovakia, Peter Pellegrini, has been added to the Ukrainian database 'Myrotvorets'.

Characterizing Pellegrini, the website calls him an 'agent of influence of the Russian Federation in the European Union countries', who 'denies Ukraine's sovereign right to defend itself against Russian-fascist invaders'.

'Known as a pro-Russian politician who maintains close ties with Russia and personally with war criminal Putin, criticizing sanctions and military aid to Ukraine, he regularly voices the theses of war criminal Putin, being an important ally of Moscow in the EU, emphasizing common interests and political closeness, especially in light of his anti-Western rhetoric,' the website states.

Pellegrini stated in an interview with STVR that the European Union should stop military support for Ukraine, as it allegedly prolongs the war. 'If we continue to give Ukraine tens or hundreds of billions just to buy weapons and military equipment, we are only prolonging a conflict that has devastating consequences for Ukraine,' he said.

Also, in the spring, Pellegrini stated that Slovakia expects a 'gesture of gratitude' from Ukraine, namely to allow gas transit in exchange for the European Union continuing to provide assistance.

In the autumn of 2024, it became known that he rejected all requests from citizens to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At that time, it was noted that since Pellegrini took office in June, four citizens of Slovakia had submitted such requests. According to Slovak legislation, serving in a foreign army without the consent of the country's president is a criminal offense - people face imprisonment for this.

Moreover, he stated that peace would cost Ukraine certain territories. 'When it comes to peace, I believe that realism must be maintained. Today, probably no one in Europe among sane people believes that peace can be achieved without some partial territorial losses for Ukraine,' Pellegrini said at the end of 2024.
