Trump's 'Peace Plan' for Ukraine Reduced from 28 to 19 Points

In the 'peace plan' for ending the war in Ukraine, 19 out of 28 points remain, the media reports. Earlier, Kyiv stated that the document has undergone editing. German Chancellor Merz suggested keeping only one point in it.

The 'peace plan' proposed by Donald Trump's administration for ending the war in Ukraine has been reduced from 28 to 19 points. The changes were made following negotiations in Geneva, reported on Monday, November 24, by the British newspaper Financial Times and the American The Washington Post (WP) citing sources.

The Number of Points is Not Final

They did not specify which provisions were removed from the plan. WP's sources noted separately that the exact number has not yet been finalized. According to them, the basis remains the original U.S. proposal, rather than one of the European drafts that have been published in the media.

European proposals were 'helpful,' but the U.S. remains focused on its original document, a WP source stated.

Merz Proposes to Keep One Point

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov reported during negotiations with the U.S. in Geneva on November 23 that Trump's original plan has undergone new editing. He did not specify what exactly has changed. Advisor to the President of Ukraine Oleksandr Bevz wrote on Facebook on November 24 that 'the plan of 28 points as it was seen before no longer exists: some points have been removed, some have been changed.'

On November 23, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz proposed his initiative for Ukraine, suggesting to reduce the 28-point plan to one point. In an interview with DW, Merz expressed particular dissatisfaction with the provision of the original plan stating that frozen Russian assets would be invested in Ukraine, and then half of the profits from these investments would go to the U.S. The Chancellor called this 'unthinkable.'
