Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated that Russia's war in Ukraine could end "in the near future." The corresponding statement is published by the Telegram channel "Pool of the First."
"Let’s finish this delay; I think, in the near future, we will deal with our internal affairs in Ukraine so that our people live better and understand that there is no better place than our land," said Lukashenko.
Peace negotiations: other important news
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump urged not to believe in significant progress between Russia and Ukraine amid negotiations. At the same time, he noted that "perhaps something good is happening."
Meanwhile, the head of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, stated that for Ukraine, the key issues in the negotiations are the legal recognition of the territories occupied by Russia, restrictions on the Ukrainian armed forces, or limitations regarding Ukraine's future alliances. He emphasized that these rules are principles that "no one can violate" in peace negotiations.
At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that there is a lot of noise in the media and political pressure amid the negotiations. He also added that Ukraine is working with the U.S. to find compromises that will strengthen, not weaken, Ukraine.
