Reuters: nearly 200,000 Ukrainians may lose legal status in the U.S.
About 200,000 Ukrainian refugees in the U.S. are at risk of losing their legal status due to delays in the immigration services under the administration of former President Donald Trump. This was reported by Reuters, citing previously unpublished government data.
After Trump took office, the processing of applications for the extension of legal status significantly slowed down. Since May 2025, only 1,900 applications have been processed, although approximately 260,000 Ukrainians entered the U.S. under the humanitarian program of former President Joe Biden since April 2022.
