In Canada, 11 people were injured in a grizzly bear attack on a group of schoolchildren, two of whom are in critical condition, police reported on Friday, according to LETA citing AFP.
The attack occurred on Thursday afternoon in the Belakula area of British Columbia, said regional press secretary of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Corporal Madonna Saunderson.
"The bear injured several people. The injuries are described as serious," Saunderson said.
The Nuxalk Nation school reported that it was closed on Friday "due to the bear incident." As the bear has not been captured, residents were advised to stay home.
