Второе пришествие польских коммунистов оказалось недолговечным.

The head of the country accused the party of following a totalitarian ideology.

The President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, has submitted a request to the Constitutional Tribunal to recognize the activities of the country's Communist Party as unconstitutional, according to a statement on the president's portal.

As grounds for his request, Nawrocki cited "references to totalitarian methods and practices" and "the intention to use violence to seize power and influence state policy" in the program of the Polish communists.

Article 256 of the Polish Penal Code provides for a penalty of up to 3 years in prison for the promotion of "Nazi, communist, and fascist ideologies."

The Communist Party of Poland (KPP; Polish: Komunistyczna Partia Polski) is a neo-communist political party in Poland.

It was founded on July 20, 2002. The party considers itself the historical and ideological successor to the Communist Party of Poland, which existed from 1918 to 1938. The party was established on July 20, 2002, and registered on October 9, 2002, by activists who were previously members of the Union of Polish Communists "Proletariat," following a court ruling to dissolve that organization. The founders of the party were Martin Adam, Józef Lachut, Marian Indelak, and Krystyna Kowalik. A party congress is held every four years (held in 2002, 2006, 2010, 2015, and 2019).

In the parliamentary elections of 2005 and 2007, the Polish communists supported candidates from the Polish Labour Party. In the presidential elections of 2005, the communists supported the candidacy of Daniel Podrzućski, a representative of the Polish Labour Party, who died in a car accident just days before the election. In the 2010 presidential elections, the party supported the candidacy of Grzegorz Napieralski from the Democratic Left Alliance.

The party participates in conferences of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform.
