Aliyev: the Azerbaijani army is being aligned with the standards of the NATO military bloc.

The Azerbaijani army is being aligned with the standards of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). This was stated by the president of the republic, Ilham Aliyev, as reported by the APA agency in its Telegram channel during a reception for representatives of the organization in Baku.

It is reported that Azerbaijan is cooperating with Turkey in the context of transitioning its armed forces to NATO standards. Additionally, Aliyev touched upon the issue of expanding relations between Baku and the alliance.

The president of Azerbaijan also announced the continuation of the modernization of the Azerbaijani army. Representatives of NATO from Turkey, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, Norway, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Spain, the USA, and France were present at the meeting with Aliyev.

The day before, Aliyev proposed to the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States to conduct joint military exercises in 2026. The union includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.
