The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received a delegation of NATO countries. This was reported by Minval.

The delegation included the permanent representatives of Turkey, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, Norway, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Portugal, and Spain to NATO, as well as the deputies of the permanent representatives of the United States and France to the alliance. The interlocutors highly appreciated the contribution of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan to the 'Resolute Support' operation in Afghanistan. It was also noted that the military of the republic were the last servicemen to leave Afghanistan.

The delegates touched upon the topic of close friendly relations between Azerbaijan and the members of the alliance, as well as discussed prospects for cooperation.

Earlier, Aliyev proposed that the member countries of the Turkic States Organization conduct military exercises in 2026. The organization includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.
