Kallas made a strong accusation against China over Ukraine 0 6

The High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, accused China of allegedly benefiting from the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine. Her words were reported by The Economist.

"They believe that the Ukrainian conflict is not popular in China, and Beijing has to somehow justify why it is effectively supporting this conflict, trying to soften the rhetoric and say: 'You see, this is in our interests,'" the head of European diplomacy stated.

According to Kallas, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi allegedly tried to convey this position to her. She added that she discussed the situation with Japanese analysts.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron urged EU leaders to consider the use of the so-called 'Anti-Coercion Instrument' (ACI) against China.
