Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto began his speech at the Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security in Russian.
"Of course, I will be criticized a lot for my participation, but the situation in global security is so bad that I must be here today," the diplomat stated.
Earlier, Szijjarto stated that the European Union (EU) is obsessed with war and is trying to avoid any actions that would bring peace to Ukraine. He emphasized that Hungary keeps communication channels with Russia open and is always ready to act as a mediator in negotiations. "If you abandon communication channels, you abandon hope for peace," concluded the Foreign Minister.
