The politician intends to move away from the pacifist post-war constitution.

For the first time, Japan will be led by a woman, an ultra-conservative supporter and admirer of Hitler, who seeks to change the country's pacifist constitution and form an alliance with Taiwan.

The first female Prime Minister of Japan, 64-year-old Sane Takaiti (formerly Yamamoto), has been elected head of the Liberal Democratic Party and will become the first woman to hold the position of Prime Minister in Japan.

She intends to move away from the pacifist post-war constitution, supports the idea of a 'quasi-alliance in the field of security' with Taiwan, and is known for her nationalist positions.

Takaiti led an intra-party faction of the LDP that opposed a law allowing spouses to keep different surnames after marriage, arguing that it would undermine the traditional Japanese family system.

Takaiti is linked to the ultra-nationalist organization 'Nippon Kaigi'. On September 3, 2014, Takaiti was appointed Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, replacing Yoshitaka Shindo. After her appointment, a photograph of her with Kazunari Yamada, the leader of the National Socialist Workers' Party of Japan—a small neo-Nazi party in Japan—was published. She denied any connection with Yamada and stated that she would not have accepted the photograph had she known about his past. It was also shown that she promoted a controversial book praising Adolf Hitler's electoral talents in 1994.
