A judge, Astrit Kaladhu, was shot during a hearing at the Tirana appellate court on Monday, A.P. reports.
According to the Albanian police, Kaladhu was shot by a 30-year-old suspect with the initials E. Sh. The judge died during transportation to the hospital.
The assailant also injured two other people who were in the courtroom, but their injuries are not life-threatening.
After the shooting, E. Sh. fled the scene but was later apprehended. The police arrested the man and seized a revolver that he likely used. The motive for the crime is still unclear, and the police have not reported on it.
