Netflix Inc shares are sharply declining for the second day in a row after the holder of a half-trillion-dollar fortune Elon Musk continued to urge his followers to cancel the service.
Netflix stocks fell by 2.9% on Thursday after a 2.3% decline on Wednesday. The shares are now down for the fourth consecutive session.
This week, Musk urged his 226 million followers on X to "cancel Netflix for the sake of your children's health." The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX reacted to a post accusing Netflix of promoting a transgender agenda.
Musk highlighted the animated series Dead End: Paranormal Park, stating that it "promotes transgender ideology" to children. In another post, he responded to a user who noted that the show is aimed at viewers aged seven and up, writing: "this is unacceptable."
Netflix has faced criticism from conservatives in recent years for its content, but the company typically claims to provide programming for a wide range of audiences. Musk also agreed with a user on X who stated that Netflix openly boasts about discriminating against white people.
As a result, search queries like "cancel Netflix" and "how to cancel Netflix" are gaining popularity on Google.
