Is your leather jacket cracked? Don't rush to throw it away — there's a working life hack

A leather jacket is a versatile item that never goes out of style. Over time, it may develop defects, but they can be removed at home.

To eliminate scratches and cracks, glycerin is used: it is mixed with warm water in equal proportions. A cotton pad is soaked in the solution, slightly squeezed, and the damaged areas are treated with circular motions. For deep cracks, the remedy is applied in two layers with a five-minute break.

To restore shine, a mixture is prepared from a soapy solution (soap is grated and dissolved in warm water) with the addition of three drops of ammonia. A cotton pad is soaked in the mixture, well squeezed, and gently wiped over the dull areas: sleeves, collar, and front of the jacket. Then these areas are treated with a dry soft cloth.

After treatment, the jacket is hung on a hanger in a dark, ventilated place. For prevention, it is recommended to wipe it with a damp sponge once a month, and with a glycerin solution every two months.
