British actor Henry Cavill, who has been mentioned several times as a potential candidate for the role of the new agent 007, revealed under what condition he is ready to join the famous James Bond franchise.
Not Bond, but Part of the Franchise
The actor admitted that he does not see himself in the role of the super spy. According to him, age may become an obstacle to participating in the classic role of the hero.
"I haven’t declined the role; it’s just that the time has passed. What actor wouldn’t dream of playing James Bond? But I’m already 42 years old; I would be considered too old for this role," Cavill noted.
The Role That Interests Him
At the same time, the artist does not rule out participating in the project if he is offered another, more suitable role. In particular, he is attracted to the image of an antagonist.
Cavill emphasized that the villain character in the Bond franchise can be especially interesting in terms of acting work and depth of character development.
What We Know About the New Film
Currently, the development of the next installment of the James Bond franchise is being handled by Amazon MGM Studios. It is expected that Denis Villeneuve will serve as the director of the project.
The film is in the preparation stage, and the final cast has not yet been announced.
