Olga Zaikovska, dermatologist-venereologist, PhD, teacher, director, and owner of Rīga Dermatology Group — a clinic for dermatology and aesthetic medicine with a preventive approach.
My method
— Initially, I am a doctor specializing in dermatology and venereology, but it so happened that my main specialization became aesthetic medicine. Almost all dermatologists try this, but not everyone stays there; not everyone succeeds for various reasons. I succeeded.
Dr. Zaikovska's clinic has become a place where the health and beauty of women, especially those over 40, are cared for. Olga asserts that health always comes first, and beauty follows as a consequence: "You are beautiful when you feel good. It is important not only to focus on aesthetics but also on physical condition," she believes.
— It’s not that I chose the topic of preventive medicine; rather, it chose me: the fact is that alongside the birth of my twin children, some health difficulties arose. I received additional education, and finally, the puzzle of my method came together.
It is simple: treat the cause, not the symptom. Let me explain with an example. Suppose a patient comes for laser resurfacing. And to ensure the result is certain — I need to make sure that this woman has the resources to produce collagen, that everything will heal well. Therefore, first — a consultation and detailed analyses. If we find, for example, iron deficiency, we will replenish it first and then perform the procedure. I want to help people, sleep peacefully at night, and live with a clear conscience — that’s such a simple approach to work (smiles). I can calmly dissuade a patient from an expensive procedure if I don’t see any sense in it. Later, by the way, people come back and say thank you. And a year later, they send ten of their friends because "this is a doctor who tells it like it is."
In her arsenal are not only procedures but also advice on nutrition and lifestyle.
— Every woman should understand that caring for herself is not indulgence but a necessity. I want every patient to know how important it is to maintain health and take care of themselves. This is not just cosmetics; it is a conscious choice and love for oneself.
On the same wavelength with patients
Olga pays a lot of attention to the topic of menopause, which is still considered taboo. In her clinic, they openly discuss the problems women face at this age.
— We must discuss this, work on raising awareness. My favorite audience is adequate middle-aged women. Working, busy, thoughtful, modern. Teachers, doctors, managers, businesswomen, specialists in various fields. Patients who do not have significant financial means but want to see a specialist who will not impose anything unnecessary and help them look well-groomed — what is called "natural beauty."
I cannot work superficially, "Doctor, inject this medication here, and this one here — it’s more fashionable." I cannot do 10 minutes — and next. I must talk long and thoroughly with the patient, uncovering dreams, wishes, and possibilities (theirs and ours); especially if this is the first consultation. Yes, it cannot cost little, but the person receives a comprehensive and prospective solution.
Not just to treat, but to teach
Dr. Zaikovska is not just a doctor; she is also a true mentor and inspirer for many women. With each passing year, her desire to share knowledge and experience grows stronger:
— I have always felt the need to share my knowledge. Over the past five years, I have had several doctors, one could say, "under my care," whom I taught and guided to courses.
She proudly speaks of the young specialists working under her guidance and how they are already seeing patients. This is not just work but a true mission — to prepare new doctors and help women look and feel better. Thus, her story is not only a path to success as a doctor but also an inspiring example for women who want to be beautiful and healthy at any age.
Tips from a professional
The formula for beautiful and conscious aging from Dr. Zaikovska:
"Women’s beauty is not a struggle against time, but a union with it," Olga Zaikovska formulates her life philosophy and offers her own system that helps maintain energy, clarity of mind, and inner balance.
1. Positivity as a basic mental setting
Belief in the best in people and the ability to look at life with optimism is a conscious choice. This approach preserves mental health, reduces stress levels, and helps prevent burnout.
2. Discipline without compromise
Getting up at 5:30 and a mandatory 30-minute walk — daily in any weather, without exceptions. Such a clear morning routine supports a sense of stability, structures the day, and provides a powerful energy boost.
3. Regular check-ups — this is self-love
Tests at least twice a year and timely correction of deficiencies allow the body to stay balanced and prevent problems before they arise.
4. Not to "not age," but to beautifully correct changes
Physical activity, working on posture, back massage, weight control, and comprehensive skin care — all these are parts of one process: harmonious aging. Modern cosmetic methods act here not as a radical measure but as a tool to support natural beauty.
5. Find your "place of power"
In the broadest sense — an activity that helps you completely disconnect from the outside world, from external noise. For me, it’s water and long swims, for example, a kilometer... Such rest deeply resets the nervous system.
6. Fill life with aesthetics
Operas, exhibitions, walks in nature — everything that gives a sense of beauty and inspiration directly affects the inner state, and thus, the external appearance.
7. Conscious eating without fanaticism
I am not an advocate of strict diets; I believe that a woman can eat everything while adhering to some principles: daily fiber, adequate water intake, avoiding white bread, minimizing dairy products and added sugar.
8. Cosmetology as an ally, not a cult
In my "women's arsenal" — biorevitalization, polynucleotides, peels, mesoradiess, botulinotherapy, sometimes — RF and Ultherapy. All strictly according to indications, with the aim of preserving skin quality, not changing my facial features.
Riga Dermatology Group by Dr. Zaikovska — is primarily a medical institution, not a salon. But also not a hospital where one feels scared. It is a place that is pleasant to visit, where everything is explained to you in the waiting room, and tea and coffee are offered. In our offices, there are not only equipment-tools-medications, and everything is sterile, but also beautiful paintings, the author of which, by the way, is one of my patients.
Our main areas of work:
-
development of anti-age plans for women over 40 after thorough examination and analysis, working with causes, not just symptoms;
-
injection techniques: the entire spectrum — from mesotherapy and biorevitalization to Botox, fillers, and collagen stimulators;
-
hardware anti-age procedures: non-surgical SMAS lifting Ulthera, CO2 laser resurfacing for rejuvenation and scar treatment, fractional rejuvenation with a neodymium laser;
-
treatment of dermatological problems with a preventive approach: checking and removing neoplasms — an important component, especially with age; plus treatment of psoriasis, fungi, various dermatitis;
-
vascular direction: IPL system for photo-rejuvenation and neodymium laser for deeper vessels; lasers for treating rosacea and capillary networks;
Comprehensive care:
all types of cosmetic "routines" and massages; as well as intravenous injections, but only after a doctor's consultation, no "self-prescribing";
- women's health during menopause: "I specifically buy a couch for 10,000 euros from France with the possibility of gynecological examination. I will study and practice gynecological rejuvenation, treatment of age-related changes. This is an area of my interest based on personal experience."
