Former Prince Andrew was arrested by police on his 66th birthday. His brother and monarch King Charles III commented on the incident.
Buckingham Palace has responded to the news of the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former prince and Duke of York. King Charles III is quoted by Page Six, citing official sources.
"I am deeply troubled by the news regarding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who is suspected of misconduct. A full, fair, and proper process will now follow, during which this matter will be investigated appropriately and by the relevant authorities," stated the eldest son of Elizabeth II. The King of the United Kingdom assured that he would guarantee cooperation with law enforcement.
"As the process continues, it would be wrong for me to comment further on this matter. In the meantime, my family and I will continue to fulfill our duty and serve you all," the monarch concluded his statement.
Today, on the day of the 66th birthday of former Prince Andrew, police arrived at his home with search warrants. According to foreign tabloids, Charles III's younger brother was detained in connection with the high-profile case of Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew, often referred to as the favorite son of Elizabeth II, appears in the notorious files of the financier-pedophile that were released by the U.S. Department of Justice.
For example, in several photographs, the former prince was seen with a girl whose face was obscured. He also had active correspondence with Epstein.
