One simple habit after eating can significantly improve health, said general practitioner Heather Viola. She explained that it involves a ten-minute walk. This is reported by Infobae.

A ten-minute walk at a moderate pace helps speed up the passage of food through the gastrointestinal tract. This reduces pressure on the lower esophageal sphincter and decreases the risk of stomach acid returning to the esophagus.

It is this backflow that triggers heartburn — a burning discomfort in the chest and throat, which often intensifies after a heavy meal, coffee, carbonated drinks, or when bending forward. Walking is especially beneficial for people prone to constipation and bloating.
