The striped print is one of those rare fashion classics that never goes out of style, regardless of the weather and is not dependent on hot trends. In winter, it works especially well: adding graphics, elongating the silhouette, setting the rhythm of the look, and saving even the simplest basic outfit. Stylist Alina Lobanova shared practical daily options for the cold season.
Striped Sweater and Solid Bottom
A winter favorite that elongates the silhouette and adds a touch of French nonchalance to the look. "Pair oversized striped sweaters with straight trousers, thick jeans, or a wool pencil skirt. Contrasting stripes perfectly balance monochrome, while the dense knit visually calms the print, making it less harsh in graphics," explains the expert.

Striped Top as a Base Layer
This is the most comfortable way to wear stripes in winter without weighing down the look. Wear a thin turtleneck under a blazer, leather jacket, long coat, or even under a sleeveless dress or one with ¾ sleeves. A narrow stripe creates a neat rhythm, does not compete with the top, and adds dynamism. This technique makes any outfit fashionable and interesting.
Striped Coat or Puffer Jacket as a Bold Accent
In winter, when most people wear practical and stain-resistant black and gray puffer jackets, a striped top becomes a fashion statement, allowing you to stand out from the crowd instantly. A coat with wide vertical stripes visually elongates the silhouette and gives the look structure, while a puffer jacket with a thin graphic stripe adds sporty chic. "To avoid overwhelming the outfit, pair such a top with a solid bottom and simple shoes — then the stripe will serve as a full-fledged stylish accent," advises the stylist.

Stripes in Accessories
If you don't want to add prints to your clothing, there's a simple way — choose a striped scarf, snood, or knitted hat. Such an accent enlivens even the most minimalist puffer jacket or coat and helps to structure the look. It's important to keep the rest of the outfit neutral — the striped accessory should be the star, but not create visual noise.

Striped Dresses and Knit Sets
In winter, mid-length striped dresses made of dense knitwear look particularly advantageous: striking, but not ostentatious. Wear them with knee-high boots or rugged boots, a sheepskin coat, or a long wool coat. Knit sets with stripes are another way to incorporate the print into your winter wardrobe: comfortable, warm, and moderately graphic. It’s better to choose a soft palette — cream, graphite, ash blue.
