5 Main Fashion Rules of the Future That Will Keep You Looking Relevant Even in 50 Years

One of the problems associated with everyday routine has always been and will be the question: "What should I wear today?" This concerns not only women but also men.

Fashion changes rapidly. One year a certain color is in vogue, the next year it’s another. Today the most fashionable brand is Italian, and in five years it will become ordinary and outdated. Moreover, fashion changes not by years, but by seasons, if not by months. A fair question arises: how to look fashionable and neat with such a fast change of trends? After all, we all want to look striking and attractive not only for others but also for ourselves!

If you think that it’s all about money and that you just need to have it to afford a luxury brand, you are not entirely right. Luxury brands serve a certain function in the fashion world, but to look relevant, it’s not necessary to adhere to "expensiveness".

In this article, we would like to tell you about five fashion rules that will allow you to look your best regardless of trends.

1. Neutral Color Palette

A neutral color palette is something that is appreciated. Boring? Not at all. Muted shades of even the most "loud" colors can create a magnificent look. To stand out in a crowd, it’s not necessary to wear a fuchsia sweater.

What’s more important: neutral shades easily combine with each other. You don’t have to rack your brain over which color goes with another. This palette dominates classic clothing styles. And classic will always be in vogue! Coats, trench coats, blazers, blouses, trousers in muted tones — all at your disposal.

2. Focus on Quality, Not Brand

Revelation: even the most expensive item may not be of the best quality. A well-made piece of clothing will last long and always look neat. Isn’t that important when creating an outfit? Pay attention to the material, cut, and texture.

And don’t be afraid of variety: if you think that woolen items look terrible after a few washes, you would be mistaken! Ensure the quality of the item, and most importantly — take care of it properly! Even the best material can fail with improper handling.

Tip: many local brands create truly high-quality and trendy clothing. Don’t be put off by the fact that the brand is not recognizable: sometimes the most beautiful and fashionable items are found in such "unknown" shops.

3. Accessories

Well-chosen accessories will add a touch of charm to your look. It’s not scary at all if you don’t have expensive jewelry. A thin light scarf can perfectly complement your outfit, making it elegant. What’s important is to maintain the proportions between simplicity and flamboyance. For example, if you’ve chosen a rather classic look without standout details, a bright piece of jewelry or any other accessory will neatly enliven the picture.

An interesting note: this is how fashion works even today. A casual, quite relaxed look: black loose jeans, a large comfortable hoodie or turtleneck — is refreshed by accessories, such as bright and creative keychains on bags or shoppers.

This same scheme was relevant a few years ago — bright silk scarves around the neck. By the way, this trend has persisted to this day, only scarves are tied in various places: instead of a belt, as a headband, on the thigh, on a bag. The essence remains the same: a bright, interesting accent in an outfit where only one or two colors prevail!

4. Beige and Its Shades

Let’s return a bit to colors. Beige and its shades will remain relevant for a long time. You might rightly note: how many beige coats are worn now, it’s just a nightmare! However, fashion tells us and shows the opposite. It’s no coincidence that this color stands in the classic palette alongside white and black. Combinations change, but beige continues to hold its power.

5. Wear What You Truly Like

Perhaps not the most obvious, but an important point: wear what you truly like, what you feel comfortable in. There’s a simple and banal explanation for this: when a person puts on something they feel uncomfortable in, the item starts to look bad. This is indeed the case. In comfortable and beautiful clothing, anyone will look more confident. In such a case, the outfit itself becomes more attractive.
