How Tea Can Slow Down the Aging Process: Black and Green Tea Guarding Health

Regular tea consumption can slow down the processes of biological aging. It turns out that just three cups of tea a day help the body maintain youth and strengthen health.

A study conducted by experts from Sichuan University showed that tea lovers exhibit signs of slower biological aging.

"The effects of tea depend on individual responses, however, about three cups of tea or six to eight grams of leaves per day yield the most pronounced results in the fight against aging," the authors of the study noted.

Abandoning tea, on the contrary, is associated with faster aging of the body. Scientists link the positive effect to polyphenols—active substances that influence gut microbiota, which in turn improves immunity, metabolism, and cognitive functions.

Both green and black tea have anti-aging effects:

  • Green tea is rich in catechins, powerful antioxidants that slow down aging and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
  • Black tea contains flavonoids that can support heart health, lower blood pressure and levels of "bad" cholesterol, as well as reduce the likelihood of stroke.

Moreover, especially green tea is beneficial for teeth and oral cavity due to fluoride, catechins, and polyphenols that strengthen enamel and combat microbes.

Regularly including black or green tea in the diet can be a simple and enjoyable way to maintain health and slow down the aging process.
