The palette is calm and noble: milk, oatmeal, camel, graphite, dark blue. Stylist Masha Vedernikova shared the fashionable models of the season and gave tips on how to style them.
Oversized Straight-Cut Jumper
An ideal option for everyday wear. Pair it with straight jeans and loafers, add a long wool scarf and a structured bag. "For balance with volume, choose a smooth bottom: narrow trousers with creases, a pencil skirt, or a bias-cut midi. The technique of partially tucking the front edge works well; it elongates the silhouette and highlights the waist. The top should be soft wool or a cashmere blend, while the bottom can be leather, denim, or suit fabric," says the expert.
Turtleneck
Thin and elastic, it holds its shape well and adds almost no bulk to the layer of clothing. Wear it under a jacket, vest, midi dress, or sleeveless dress. In monochrome, it looks expensive: graphite with graphite, milk with milk. For contrast, try a black turtleneck with a white shirt on top and a loose cashmere coat.
Sweater with a Zip Collar or Polo
The trendiest sporty option of the season. When the zipper is undone a couple of centimeters, the collar lies in a triangle, and the neckline looks lighter. "Pair it with a straight leather skirt and knee-high boots, or with indigo jeans and sneakers. A trench coat or a short sheepskin jacket will work well on top," assures the stylist.
Textured Aran with Braids
Aran is a type of textured knitting characterized by "braids," honeycombs, and diamonds. The name comes from the Aran Islands off the coast of Ireland, where such sweaters made from thick sheep's wool were worn by fishermen. The patterns were not only for beauty. The bulky knit traps air and provides better warmth, while natural wool with lanolin repels moisture. The texture adds volume and immediately draws attention to the forefront. Let everything around be smooth and simple in this case. A great pair would be a silk midi skirt and high boots, or tailored black trousers and ballet flats. By the way, the trendy milk-colored Aran looks beautiful in a light total look this season. If you need an accent, go for dark cherry lipstick or a cognac-colored leather belt.
Midi Sweater Dress
This is an excellent versatile piece for autumn that works on its own. During the day, wear it with thick tights and chunky boots or sneakers; in the evening, with suede over-the-knee boots and a long coat. To ensure the silhouette doesn’t get lost, add a belt at the waist. Vertical lines play well: a long scarf, a contrasting envelope bag, a straight-cut coat. If you choose a pattern, let it be calm, such as a thin stripe or a fine rice knit.
