The Italian Ferrari has introduced its first fully electric car in the company's history. The new supercar Luce can travel over 530 kilometers without recharging and accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.

Ferrari has officially presented its first fully electric car, taking one of the most important steps in the brand's history. The new model is named Luce — which means "light" in Italian.

The electric car can travel over 530 kilometers on a single charge and accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.5 seconds. At the same time, the car has become the heaviest Ferrari in the brand's history — its weight reaches 2.26 tons.

For Ferrari, this is a particularly noticeable change, as the brand has been associated for decades primarily with lightweight sports cars and the characteristic sound of gasoline engines. Luce is also only the second four-door model from the company and the first Ferrari with five full seating places.

In fact, Ferrari is trying to combine several worlds at once — a traditional supercar, a family car, and a modern electric vehicle.

The transition of luxury automakers to electric drive has accelerated sharply in recent years. Previously, Porsche and Lamborghini had already actively entered the electric car segment. However, Ferrari had long been considered one of the most cautious companies regarding a complete abandonment of gasoline engines.

For many fans of the brand, the main question now is not only about the car's specifications but also whether the electric car can maintain the "Ferrari character" — the sensations of driving, emotions, and the brand's signature style. The company itself has previously stated that by 2030, approximately 20% of Ferrari's model range could consist of fully electric vehicles.

Against the backdrop of tightening environmental requirements in Europe and the rapid growth of the electric vehicle market, even supercar manufacturers are gradually being forced to restructure their strategies.

At the same time, Ferrari clearly bets that luxury car buyers are willing to pay not only for speed but also for new technologies.
