Xiaomi Proved to Be the Most Resilient Electric Vehicle

The electric sedan covered 4,264 km in a day of continuous driving and charging, surpassing Porsche, Mercedes, and previous record holders from China.

The next-generation Xiaomi SU7 Max electric sedan set a world record in a 24-hour speed endurance test among production electric vehicles. In just one day, the car traveled 4,264 kilometers, significantly exceeding the previous achievements of competitors, reports ChinaEVHome.

The tests took place on an oval track measuring 7.8 km in the Chinese city of Yancheng. Throughout the entire 24 hours, the Xiaomi SU7 Max operated at a maximum speed of up to 240 km/h, periodically stopping only for quick charging.

Xiaomi's result has become a new record in this format of tests. For comparison, last year's record holder, the Xpeng Next P7, covered 3,961 km. Premium brands showed significantly more modest figures: the Porsche Taycan traveled 3,425 km, while the new Mercedes-Benz CLA covered 3,717 km.

The key factor in this success was the upgraded powertrain and efficient thermal management. The SU7 Max is equipped with a 101.7 kWh battery and a special cooling system borrowed from the sports version, the SU7 Ultra. This allows it to maintain stable performance even under extreme loads and high temperatures. Thanks to its 897-volt electrical architecture, the vehicle can replenish its range by 670 km in just 15 minutes of charging.

Technically, the model features new V6s Plus electric motors that spin up to 22,000 rpm. The combined power is about 673 hp, with a torque of 838 Nm, and a maximum speed of 265 km/h. In everyday mode, the claimed range is up to 835 km on a single charge.

It is worth noting that Xiaomi previously reported that it delivered over 50,000 vehicles for the first time in a month.
