A Way to Reduce Car Wear in Frosts Has Been Named

Warming up the engine will help reduce car wear in frosts.

Drivers should warm up the car engine if it has been standing in the cold for a long time to prevent increased wear of the vehicle. The advice for car owners on this matter was given by auto lawyer and court auto expert Alexander Kasyanenko.

According to the specialist, modern internal combustion engines do not require prolonged warming up, especially when using synthetic oils. "However, if the car has been idle in the cold for a long time, a little 'warm-up', that is, warming up the engine, won't hurt," he noted.

Kasyanenko recommended that drivers let the engine run at idle for a few minutes to allow the oil to circulate through the system. This way, the auto expert clarified, it will be possible to avoid increased wear when starting to drive.
