Panel houses will become a little wooden. How is that?

Latvijas Avīze writes about new, national, construction technologies: "Industrially produced wooden frame panels are beginning to be used in the renovation of multi-story residential buildings."

An example is given of a 4-story building in Valka, built of silicate brick in 1969, for which "thermal insulation of the building facade, wind protection, and attractive finishing have been provided." By December 31, 2029, the government has planned to support 10 similar renovations. Meanwhile, residents will also have to pay extra — in Valka, apartment owners pay 2.86 euros per square meter per month, "which no longer seems so terrible." According to the calculations of Selina Abelniece, Director of the Financial Department of Energy at the Ministry of Economics, 26,000 buildings need to be renovated in Latvia. From 2009 to 2025, 1,403 buildings were renovated, for which 500,549,117.8 euros were spent from EU funds. At this pace, with 88 buildings renovated per year, the repairs will last until the year 2310...
