The Internet Suddenly Malfunctions Worldwide — Cloudflare Is Involved

Around 14:00 Latvian time on November 18, internet users from all over the world began to complain about access issues to various websites and services.

The issue is related to a failure at Cloudflare — one of the largest providers of content delivery network (CDN) services, DNS servers, and other services related to the operation of websites and internet services.

The reasons for the problems are not specified, but the company is already investigating the incident. It is known that users in Russia, Europe, and America are unable to access many websites, including X and Spotify, and many users, including employees of 3DNews, have encountered inaccessibility of ChatGPT. In the latter case, only the message appears: "To continue, unblock challenges.cloudflare.com."

Ironically, the world's most popular site for tracking outages — Downdetector.com — is also not accessible due to issues with Cloudflare. It displays the same message as ChatGPT.

By the time this material was published, some services, particularly ChatGPT, had begun to show signs of life again. However, the reasons for the incident are still unknown.
